Reminds me of the times I’ve traveled to New Mexico. Can’t wait to go back. Hope 2010 will have that in store for me, along with time with my Canon T1i in the wilderness.

The above poster titled “While you were away…” is 1944 German poster aimed at British troops seeks to raise fears of cuckolding by Americans stationed in the U.K. with a caption that reads: “The Yanks are ‘lease-lending’ your women. Their pockets full of cash and no work to do ….”

Never knew the extent these poster went to persuade. A real eye opener.

While away on bussiness, a co-worker showed me this amazing screensaver created by a group of people who were recreating the HAL screens from 2001 A Space Odyssey.

So much detail was put into this project, it’s defiantly worth checking out and downloading the free screensaver.

Read an article on Brand New about the new The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, where they have rebranded thier logo with inspiration from Charley Harper.

Last fall I was able to attend a special gallery showing of Charley Harper’s work at the Art Prostitute gallery in downtown Dallas.

I had forgotten, until now, how much I enjoyed his work. If you have never seen Harper’s work, It is well worth a look.

Doing my normal fumble around digg.com and came across this an article titled “Beautiful Modern Vintage Illustrations by Tom Whalen” found on abduzeedo.com.

This has to the best use style/subject matter I have seen in a very long time.

I might be the direct connection I get from references to my childhood that draw me in, but I definitely recommend checking it out.

Amnesty International has installed a new anti-domestic-abuse ad fixture in Hamburg, Germany which is equal parts clever and shocking.

I remember going into Best Buy with my friends and playing for hours with the camera the had face and smile detection. Feel vaguely familiar in this ad execution or at least something I would get sucked into play around with if I found the ad on the street.

Make me remember how much we over look typography and letter forms in our daily lives. Might want to take a second look at how type is being used all around you to communicate.
